How To Respond To Insults Like Steve Jobs [inspirational]

In this old video made in a conference when Steve Jobs was called back to be Apple's CEO, one of the viewers doesn't agree with Jobs technical ideas and told him that he's completely clueless about the issue... Just watch how Steve Jobs handles the insult and turn it into a very inspirational speech!

What a great video! As you can see, admitting that you are wrong is perfectly fine, as soon you never go out of your success path.

Turn it UP!

Greetings to you on this mildly warm Monday morning! As your ready yourself for a kickoff, I do hope you had a wonderful weekend with friends, family and yourself. Time is ticking and we are in April. Geesh…and it’s not slowing down. So, today, let’s catch up and turn it up. The “it” of which I am referring to, is our internal voice.
Monday is here and it is truly easy and almost without any effort to fire off our “to-do” list, book meetings, read emails, and schedule other appointments. Pretty soon, you feel the pressure mounting in your shoulders or your mind. STOP! It is now time to include you on your list and listening to your still small voice that is urging you to recognize the voice and realign to hear the voice throughout your day of lists.
  • Recognize the voice – often times when we ignore the voice and do what is contrary to what we “know” to be the right choice. As a result, we now feel guilty, stressed, or tense. To avoid this negative feeling, take a moment to just recognize that small voice by being still for a moment. Even if it’s just five minutes, give yourself permission to honor your internal voice. It will bring you a sense of peace and guidance. Take a deep breath, say an affirmation or prayer, or just sit with silence to truly just “be”. Recognize the voice today in your busyness of life and work to truly connect with what matters and it will in turn allow you to approach your “lists” in a different manner.
  • Realign to hear the voice – As you review your lists of “to-do’s”, take a moment and include this realignment on your coveted “to-do” list. Example: 1) Schedule meeting with boss, 2) write white-paper on eco-friendly office furniture, 3) return emails from my vacation, 4) order lunch for board meeting, 5) schedule site visit for conference, 6) talk to HR about staffing issue…you get the picture. Example of realigned list: 1) Schedule meeting with boss, 2) write white-paper on eco-friendly office furniture, 3) Realign to hear the voice, 4) return emails from my vacation,5) order lunch for board meeting , 6) Realign to hear the voice, 7) schedule site visit for conference, 8) talk to HR about staffing issue, 9) Realign to hear the voice…etc.  By inserting or scheduling in time to ‘realign to hear the voice’, it reminds you to do so. When we fail to realign, we run the risk of being burned out and running in circles without perhaps accomplishing all that we set out to accomplish.  For better performance, today include yourself on your list that will bring a peace of mind and less stress.

Here’s wishing you a Monday filled with intentional peace and alignment for all you set out to accomplish!

The Art of Being an Overcomer

Monday Moments

Top of the morning to you! Hi there!  Good morning! Morning! These are some of the few ways I greet you online and in person. Sometimes, it’s accompanied with a hug, but always with high energy and a big smile. So, this morning I hope you feel my sheer joy, enthusiasm and thankfulness to you, as I help you start your Monday on a favorable note.

Today, as I awoke, the thunder was rumbling and the lightening commenced; followed by downpours. For sure, I wanted to stay under the covers and listen and lull and just…you know…do all of those things when it rains. Relax and settle in. But, no-can-do!  I must overcome this feeling and quickly overcome this feeling. After-all, I truly believe how we act and feel in those first moments of arising will set the tone for the rest of the day.  Therefore, time to shift some energy to overcome this relaxed state!

So, today as we greet the second day of spring, let’s overcome.  I like definitions, so we’ll start there.
Overcome(r) – Definition – to gain the superiority: WIN, to get the better of

Isn’t that good news? Thanks Merriam-Webster.  Now that we know what it means, I want to encourage you to overcome these Monday blues that sometimes try to creep upon us or other “blues” that may try to rear its head today or this week.
1)      Recognize the “blue” feeling and change it – this morning, I could have chosen to lie in the bed and feel ‘blah, blue or relaxed’. But, I also know  there is  lots to do and should I chose to ignore the many action items, later today I would be kicking myself for wasting time. NOPE! We have free will to choose another thought that will render us productive, happy, and active. Freely and intentionally choose the thought or best action that will serve you in a greater capacity.
2)      How to change the feeling:
a.      Say an affirmation – ex. Today is a great day, even in the rain. The rain allows me to wear my cute rain boots. Thank you for the rain and the stylish wardrobe to accompany this weather.
b.      Turn on some “feel good” music that will enhance a happy feeling, thought or act.
c.       Stand and give yourself a standing ovation for deciding to rise & shine.
d.      Find a scripture – it will remind you that you are not alone and give you strength. (Phil 4:13)
e.      Call a friend, family member  or colleague for a quick hello and share your affirmation, wishing them well for today
f.        Take ten minutes to stretch, have prayer or meditate
g.      Exercise (time permitting) – get the endorphins moving with ten sit-ups, push-ups, jumping jacks – just MOVE!
h.      Five finger rule – say aloud five things, events, places or actions you are thankful for, that you experienced over the weekend.
i.        Expectations & Intentions - Expect today to be a GREAT day! Intentionally make it a GREAT day!
j.        I am an OVERCOMER – repeat aloud ten times.

Go forth and overcome. Have a winning wonderful Monday and feel free to share your feedback on the blog or drop me an email. Oh, and by all means, share this Monday Moment with someone who may be experiencing a “blue Monday”.

Spring Stride

Warm weather is quickly approaching and with todays temps, spring is in the air. How excited are you to feel the sun on your face? Does it make you smile or raise your endorphins to see blooming daffodils and tulips? Even the flowers Stand Tall in this weather and so can you. For those of you who share in my excitement and are eager to usher in your own stride for spring, see below what it means to Stand Tall. While this word or phrase may not be apart of Webster’s lexicon (not yet at least), it is genuine, heart-felt, quite telling, descriptive and is sure to offer a new meaning to your world. That is my hope! Tell me, how are you Standing Tall, for this new springseason? How will you get your spring stride?
Me? Well, if you’ve listened to the Three Tips for Standing Tall audio (ahem…it’s a freebie when you subscribe to this blog), you are familiar with a few steps to Standing Tall. Haven’t subscribed? Click here to subscribe or visit the homepage of this blog to do so. Back to me. One of the ways in which I am getting my spring stride is retreating  or connecting with friends and family that I may not have seen in a while. It is important to honor those relationships with nurturing intention. In fact, it’s needed for me and for them as well. Relationships and connections help us grow, make us laugh, support us in our tears, and hold us with strong arms…just to name a few. In fact, connecting with you via this blog is a connection that I cherish and nurture. Thank you, as I get my spring stride. I look forward to reading how you will get your spring stride! We Inspire Each Other

What I need is someone who will make me do what I can. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

We all have goals. They may be small...or rather large and lofty, but we are all looking ahead to something. Perhaps we don't think we can actually get there. Or maybe we never doubt ourselves for a moment. Some of us work hard and keep our goals in focus. Some of us wish away our time and wonder where it went. Most of us do a little of both.

All of us need inspiration. A friend. A mentor. Someone to snap us back to reality when we dream too much and work too little or just plain give up. A positive shove in the right direction will do us good.

January is gone. February is over and done. March is here with another clean page and fresh start.

It is sure to be a great month if we make ourselves do the work. Ralph was right!

Nothing is as easy as it looks!

Sometimes insight comes from funny places – literally. Today it was from a silly comic strip, Rhymes With Orange, in the local newspaper. Two people looking at a distant snowman, one remarks that the snowman is so peaceful.

The next frame shows the snowman up close. He is worrying to himself…sleet, sun, dogs, rabbits...

For me, this is a reminder that nothing is as easy as it looks from the outside. Time and time again I am surprised to find out that someone that I admire has to work at success – they make it look so easy! Or I make the mistake of forgetting that nobody has the perfect life or situation. We all have obstacles and challenges to overcome. We all have advantages, too. Fortunately, unlike the snowman, we can act to change the course of our days.

Good Deeds That Bite You Back

What is a good deed?

Good deeds that bite you back where it hurts, weren't a good deeds at all...

It will turn into a good deeds when you do it again, even knowing that you will have the risk of getting a very hard bite where it hurts!

Generosity is the art of giving, giving, and giving more, without fear, without expectations, without understanding or comprehension. Generosity is just a delightful way to get fulfillment of the heart and soul!...

Learn from our old deed giving master!

A great way to know how to become a deed giver is by following the best master on the subject, Jesus.

Learn from Jesus, because that was the way he spread goodness to everyone who was in need, even after knowing that the same people he was trying to help will eventually torture him and killing him.... And even in the last moment of his live, he was still praying for them!...

One think you can do today to spread love and achieve generosity success, is to simply pray for those that hurt you before and make peace in your heart, and let inspiration touch your soul... Let me know how you feel after.

Rare Perfume In Cracked Bottles

Rare Perfume In Cracked Bottles
The Positive Side Of Chronic Pain

You may be doing a double take at that but please hear me out. I have quite a few friends who are disabled in varying degrees and from them I have learned many lessons. The best one is allowing my own disabilities to be turned into positive tools to help others. It seems that the more one of these folks is suffering the more they have to give. It's a phenomena that does not make sense. Hurting people who in the midst of their most severe trials can offer such jewels of hope and encouragement to other people. I have found that reaching out to others in love does indeed make the burden easier to bear. When I am concerned about someone else then I am not so focused on my own struggles.

I know that there are a lot of folks out there who suffer with a lot of different aches and pains and that is a part of everyday life, but that is not what I am talking about here. What I am talking here is more than that. I am talking about people with chronic, debilitating conditions that affect every moment of every day and they know that it will never change. Still they don't give up. They look up instead, and find the silver lining in the darkest cloud. Most of what these people go through is tough, let me tell ya, and there are days that just positively get them down and I know there are a fair share of tears shed along the way. Usually the majority of what they experience is experienced alone and they are often misunderstood by the people around them. They know about the night. The regular activities of life become thought out calculated moves that take more time and effort than for that of the average person. Things like getting dressed or putting ones shoes on is mostly forgotten after childhood but for those with the chronic pain brought on by disabilities this is not so.

The poor souls with walking disabilities are often the most forgotten because no one wants to see. In public every day we encounter them. At McDonald's, cleaning your motel room, in construction, at the dry cleaners, you name it. If its hard, hot, long or dangerous then you can bet a person who should be disabled out of the system is having to work like a slave in it. Look next time you are out. Find the kindest, gentlest, sweetest loving souls and you will find the humble, broken, hurting people who have to struggle in some way just to make it. Some are broken so that they can't even make it out at all anymore. You don't see them either but they are there too. How do they make it? Yet still they give themselves away in love.

So I implore you to please open up and open out. Instead of looking away, look inside and become an advocate for the humble broken souls that make all of our lives shine a little brighter. Rub shoulders with the wounded (gently) and break bread with the humble. You well may be in the presence of the Royalty of future worlds. In them lies the rarest, most costly perfume that is in existence. So rare that the richest treasures on earth combined could not begin to be enough to pay it's price.

What Is Your Definition Of Success?

Did you know that the answer to that question can be the gap you need to fill if you want to achieve happiness?

My dad Mr. Luis Alfredo Galarza always was a very successful man in the eyes of everyone in my country and here in the United Estates. But, his description of happiness didn't have anything to do with wealth. In fact, his description of self-fulfillment didn't have anything to do with having a great job position or knowing top city authorities, which he did... His real happy moments were every time he extended his hands to help someone. You were able to see the sparks on his eyes when he was helping someone in need. It actually inspired me to love to help people, and I thank him for that.

My dad's definition of success was to help anyone he could in his life time, and he was very successful at that, which in return make him very happy!

You need to know that Bill Gates isn't just successful by conventional standards. Bill Gates just had a different description of happiness and he did everything he could to achieve it. His goal was to become one or the top software company in the world, and he did it, because he focus on what makes him happy. Now Bill has fulfilled his own definition of success.

That's why I love this quote:
But what is happiness except the simple harmony between a man and the life he leads?
By Albert Camus

If you want to reach true self-fulfillment, you need to answer this question: What's your definition of success?

Here is a little method you can practice to help you get on the right path:

Get a notepad and a pen and write a true description of yourself in three sentences. Read each sentences out loud to make sure each are relevant to your goals in life. After doing that you will know how close you are to your goal.

Please share your own definition of success with us...
